Motorcyclist dies following collision with pickup truck in Indianapolis

Indianapolis, Indiana – A fatal traffic accident occurred on the northwest side of Indianapolis on Tuesday night.

The incident took place yesterday, around 9:30 p.m., on West 38th Street, a short distance to the west of Michigan Road.

As conveyed by a spokesperson from the local police department, the collision involved a pickup truck, and a motorcycle. Preliminary investigation indicates that the driver of the truck was executing a U-turn on West 38th Street, in the vicinity of Newfields, when an unintended collision with the motorcycle ensued.

The individual riding the motorcycle was, unfortunately, pronounced dead at the scene of the accident.

The driver of the pickup truck was subsequently transported to a hospital to undergo a blood draw. This is a standard procedure instituted in accidents resulting in a fatality or severe bodily harm.

The Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department (IMPD) has further clarified that impairment does not seem to have been a contributing factor in the unfortunate occurrence.
